Hi! My name is Allie and I run Fabulous Fur Photography.
I am so excited you are here to share this journey with me. It started for me all the way back in high school, stealing my dads old film camera and wasting roll after roll on starry nights and bumble bees.
During college, I work at a wedding photography studio and fell in love with the camera and all it can do. Not just capturing images, but memorializing events, people, and moments in our lives. I love how a good photograph can transport you back in time to that moment to relive again and again.
After graduating, I moved to Texas and got more and more into weddings, even starting a few projects with friends in San Antonio. But it was all giving on-line galleries and never seeing how the photos really effected my clients.
It wasn’t until a call from a client that I photographed 3 years prior that I started to change my mind about digital files. She said she had misplaced her USB drive and hadn’t downloaded the images from her gallery. I started to panic… this was 3 years ago! I didn’t think I had those images and it took me forever to try and dig them up. When I did, my heart sank. I only had from half way through the ceremony on. The sweet moments of her dad seeing her in her dress for the first time, her sister hugging her close before getting ready to walk down the isle, the tribute to their mom who had passed away sometime before… all gone. She understood that there was nothing I could do at that point, but I felt like I had let her down.
That began my journey into trying to find a better way to deliver photographs to clients. I got a little obsessed with album samples from all over the world! I ordered albums from Italy and fell in love with the feel of genuine leather. I found labs that print directly onto metal and couldn’t believe the sharpness of the images! A lab in Poland sent me some stunning albums with metallic printed pages and dual-threaded linen boxes. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t seen any of this before.

We love our albums! We print on stunning metallic photographic paper and acrylic covers
When I thought of printing artwork, I thought Target and WalMart. I mean, I knew those labs weren’t amazing, but how much worse could they really be? Well, let me tell you: a LOT. I was blown away by seeing my images on quality materials. It made me fall in love with photography in a whole new way.
And that is at least half the story of Fabulous Fur. But I don’t want to bore you too much 🙂 Stay tuned for how I got into pet artwork specifically.
In the mean time, schedule a call with me to learn more and plan your own artwork-creation session!
